Like Mr. Chow's wildly eccentric club cousin, this Amsterdam lounge maintain manages to snag almost every celebrity that passes through the city. But while there's no real connection between Mr. Chow and Mr. Woo, they do entertian the same field of sexy celebrity revelers looking play and be seen. Visitors arrive to a hushed entryway with 'strictly business' bouncer that separates the insiders and outsiders with little more than a nod. Those that don't make the cut, groups of guys or gaggles of tourists, are usually directed across the street to not-so-chic sister-bar Suzy Wong.
Inside Jimmy Woo, a dimly lit Szechwan hideaway offers a mix of low-flung lounge furnishings, oriental antiquities and silk fabrics that create a distinctively up-market playground. A small dance floor is spun by one-name DJs mixing electronic house music with pop and hip-hop to create a soundtrack that strikes a few notes in every taste direction. Upstairs is a separate lounge area, roped off as a VIP section on busier weekends, offering private booths for bottle service and late night mischief till 4am.
